Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe Montague Lady Eagles traveled to Era Monday night and came home with two big wins as both the A and B teams picked up victories.
For the A Team, the win was especially exciting. Era defeated the Lady Eagles in the second game of the season on Montague’s home court in 3 sets, so traveling to Era and earning a two-set victory showed just how much this team has improved. The Lady Eagles battled through two exciting sets, winning 25-21 and 25-19.
Cayde Harris was a true court queen, putting together an outstanding all-around performance. Harris was perfect from the serving line at 100% with 5 aces and paced the Lady Eagle offense with 9 kills and a .64 kill percentage.
Sage Keck led the defensive effort with 7 digs, while Kynzlea Rios directed the offense with 9 assists. Rios also added 2 aces while serving 92%. Finleigh Travis and Courtney Bobbitt contributed 3 kills each, with Travis adding 2 aces from the serving line.
The B Team followed with another strong performance, defeating Era 25-17 and 25-18.
Carlee Belcher had another outstanding night from the serving line, leading the Lady Eagles with an impressive 8 aces. Braizlynn Hutto paced the defense with 4 digs, while Jasie Moore led the offensive attack with 2 kills. Autry Jennings continued her strong serving with 3 aces while serving 92%, and Kinley Evans added 3 aces of her own.
It was a great night of Lady Eagle volleyball and another example of the progress these girls continue to make each time they step on the court.
The Lady Eagles will be back on the road Monday, September 28, when they travel to Forestburg for their next match.
