Lady Eagles Avenge Loss

Montague hosted Midway in basketball action Thursday night. The boys won 41-18 with all players contributing to the win. Leading scorer was Caiden Young with 9 points, 3 steals, and 5 rebounds. Top facilitator was Leevi Brown with 5 assists while also taking away 6 steals. Top defender was Zayden McCullar with 7 steals and 4 points. This win improved the their record to 6-0 in district. 

Saturday the boys traveled to Alvord to play in the 8th grade division for their first tournament of the season. The team placed 2nd with a record of 2-1. Wins were against Nocona by a score of 30-25 and Chico by a score of 37-19. The loss came to an impressive Alvord team with the score 23-30. Tournament standout was Leevi Brown who hit multiple three pointers in the tournament.  The Boy's will travel to Windthorst this weekend to play their last tournament of the season. 

On the girl's side, the Lady Eagles avenged their only loss of the season Thursday against Midway 32-26. Brylee Coffman led with 10 points, 8 of them being in the second half, leaving the team with a record of 5-1 in district.

The girls then traveled to Windthorst for their second tournament of the season and played two games. They lost to a fast and furious Archer City team and won against Electra leaving them 1-1 for the day. 

Both teams will travel to Forestburg on Thursday.
