Inclement Weather Procedures
A designated announcement time is not possible due to unforeseen inclement weather
conditions. However, the Superintendent will determine the need to close school for a
day, delay the school start time or initiate an early release as soon as possible.
In the event of a closing or delayed start:
1. The following news stations will be notified of closings or delays:
Radio: Bowie radio station KNTX 1410 AM
Television: Wichita Falls stations KFDX-3 and KAUZ-6
2. Announcement at www.montagueisd.org, on our Facebook page and a text message through the Remind Text Messaging Service.
3. Faculty and staff will be notified of a closing or delay by Remind Text Messaging Service.
4. School usually starts at 10:00 a.m. on a delayed start. Busses run approx. 1 hr
before the designated school start time.
5. In the event of a need for an early release due to inclement weather, the school
will notify parents so that they will have the option of picking up their students or
making sure that someone will be home when the bus arrives.
