Boys Basketball Wins Again
Before the Christmas break, the Montague Eagles put together another complete performance on their home floor, rolling past Midway 67–25 behind balanced scoring, relentless defense, and efficient shooting.
Aiden Chavez led all scorers with 22 points, showcasing his versatility and efficiency by shooting 10-of-15 from the field and knocking down 2-of-3 from beyond the arc. Chavez also filled up the stat sheet with eight rebounds and three assists, setting the tone on both ends of the court.
Levi Newland followed with 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting and was a defensive force, recording five steals to go along with four assists. His pressure defense helped Montague jump out early and keep Midway from finding any offensive rhythm.
Alex Chavez provided a spark off the bench with a career-high eight points, hitting 3-of-5 shots from the floor and 2-of-4 from three-point range, while adding three rebounds. Cason Harris contributed eight points on an efficient 4-of-5 shooting night with five steals, along with four rebounds.
Brazos Jones added six points on 3-of-4 shooting and pulled down four rebounds, while Caiden Young chipped in four points, two assists, and two steals. Hayden Hennessey rounded out the scoring with three points, one rebound, and one assist.
Montague’s defense held Midway to just 25 points, forcing turnovers and turning them into easy scoring opportunities throughout the game. With strong contributions across the lineup, the Eagles continued to show their depth and discipline as they protected their home court in convincing fashion.
The Eagles also delivered another dominant defensive performance on their home floor, overwhelming Saint Jo 47–14 in a lopsided victory highlighted by efficiency, hustle, and rebounding.
Aiden Chavez paced Montague with 16 points on an ultra-efficient 7-of-8 shooting night, while controlling the paint with 12 rebounds for a double-double. He also added two assists.
Cason Harris was perfect from the field, scoring nine points on 4-of-4 shooting while adding three rebounds and two steals. Brazos Jones provided a strong presence inside as well, finishing with eight points on 3-of-4 shooting, hitting one three pointer, and pulling down nine rebounds to help Montague dominate the boards.
Caiden Young turned in one of his most complete games of the season, contributing eight points on 3-of-5 shooting, including 2-of-3 from three-point range. Young also filled the stat sheet with three assists, four steals, and five rebounds, sparking the Eagles on both ends of the court.

After a slow start, Montague’s defense set the tone in the second quarter, limiting Saint Jo to just 14 points for the game and forcing turnovers throughout the night. With balanced scoring and strong defensive effort across the lineup, the Eagles continued to protect their home court with another convincing win.
